Festina Lente – Make haste slowly – is a Latin saying that reflects the search for the balance between ‘not too fast’ and ‘not too slowly’. These classical words of wisdom aptly describe the studio’s philosophy.

The designer behind Festina Lente Studio is Astrid Oomes (1968).
After working for a commercial design studio as a pattern designer, she decided to embark on a new career path and follow her own style. For each design, Astrid first makes various sketches and colour experiments by hand and then produces the final design in large scale. In the last phase, the end result is digitally processed into a pattern and printed in high quality.
